Anyways, Local here Alex Dong, fresh off his victory in assessippi at provs, charged the course all day with a flury of tech and spin maneuvers that not I, nor the announcers could name before he had stomped and rode away. After slaying in the semi’s Dong couln’t exactly put it down in the finals, but his style and his smile were on point as always.

Levi (Z) Ziegler came out SENDING  all day with huge BS Rodeo gaps over the entire features and steezy rail combos like off the toes front one into switch 3′s out of the tank. Like Dong, Z killed the semi’s but couldn’t quite stomp his way to the podium. The amount of comments I’ve seen regarding Levi’s sending is getting to be quite obnoxious, but his “no pants backflip” was definitely a crowd favorite.

Lil’ Bryks in true Lil’Bryks fashion send a couple back 1′s over the hip after took a nasty bail to his shoulder after catching a heelside edge on the tank that would eventually end his day. After a little ACL damage, reports say he’s almost back to “par” seen recently test swinging Ping G15′s at Nevada Bob’s..

MY MAN- The consistency and skill in cole’s riding is aboslutely rediculous and he’s got a bag of tricks almost as big as his.. heart. Cole put down a ton of tricks all day, including a huuge front one gap to down on the monster box that ultimately sealed his victory. Cole walked away with 500 bone and a smile on his face, and we couldn’t be more proud of him. One hell of a way to finish off the year. YEAH COLE.

SOO MUCH HAPPENED, SOO MUCH TO TALK ABOUT, SOO MUCH #WINNING!

Let me start by saying this- Cole Welter slays- everything. Jumps, jibs, KFC- Everything.

Since apparently nobody owns a camera at mission ridge, there are no shots of Cole winning the spring shakedown last weekend, but hear me now- It happened. Hard. ***UPDATE. Nevermind, Video can be found here- Thanks to offaxis for the edit.

Up against some tough competition in the pro category (I keep forgetting he’s 16) Cole put it down and walked away on top!

Big shout outs to all daboyz for sending all day and making us proud and extra props to Levi for his first time riding back from knee surgery- nothing like starting slow with a backside rodeo..

Cole, Matt and the team sask boys are up all week lapping/building for the upcoming slopestyle comp.

I pick up Dong on the way, misread the one-hour time difference, Dong MISSES practices, shows up just in time for his run, Sends it, makes finals, wins. Easy right?

In all seriousness, Matt threw down, but couldn’t stomp the jump into finals,  Cole didn’t fall ALL DAY, even in finals, yet still didn’t place? Robbed.

Dong came out absolutely clutch, last run, last rider, check this run-

Front two sev in, switch up to back board, two sev out on the down box, Stale gap to back board on the up-flat-down, nose grab tail tap on the rainbow, Corked front five on the jump, and to finish it off- front one in, SWITCH BACK FIVE out of the wallride/launch feature.

YEAH DONG! AGAIN!

I’m flattered, you guys think I could actually make this happen, but i’m tired of breaking peoples hearts in the bars when I tell them it’s not real.. A thousand apologies-

I’ve been working on this one under the radar for a while and i’m super stoked it actually worked out.

When given this type of opportunity, you have to go big- and that’s exactly what I did- the artwork is inspired by the coral below deck of the “Flying Dutchmen” which is Davy Jones’ ship on Pirates of the Caribean. Also I was eating a rasberry creamsicle of the time, and Lil’ Bryks was eating a blueberry one, on Valentines day, so it only made sense that those were the colors we were going to use for the roses.

Analog did a great job and it turned out even better than I had imagined, so big props to them.

Now I know what you’re thinking- Where can I find/buy this jacket? The answer is- you can’t- It’s truly one of a kind and with only one XL ever made in the world the only way to aquire such a treasure is to take it right off my back.

It’s offiicial- the future is bright.. and coral-y.

To be honest, it was black-mail, we don’t need to go into the details but we’re stoked he’s finally agreed to join the crew!

His text came as a suprise, but the result did not shock me atall:

“Dawg! I threw down today and came out on top!”

Front one-five-o-one out.

He continued to say:          “Yeeeeaah, like put down so many new tricks, i’m so moked right now!”

Dong took home $300 cash, a brand spankin’ new class five deck and a “bag full of sweet shit!” It couldn’t have happened to a better, more humble kid, and we’re all so moked for Dong right now. Huge thanks to E and everyone at XA for putting the event together and making it such a huge success.
